Women's Ministry

Women's Missionary Union (WMU) is an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist convention.

WMU exists to challenge Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God.

September is going to be a busy month this year. Many events are happening the same week.

On September 11^th, the Kaskaskia Baptist Associational annual meeting will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Centralia from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Lunch will be served at noon followed by a Missions Fair and Rally until 4:00 pm.

We will have the opportunity to hear several missionaries beginning September 11^th through September 15^th. This On Mission Conference is an opportunity to hear from an Illinois State missionary, a North American Board missionary, two International Mission Board missionaries and a Southern Illinois Spanish missionary.

Smith Grove is hosting Chet Daniels, an Illinois State missionary. Someone is needed to furnish an evening meal each day.

Illinois Baptist churches are also asked to observe a week of prayer for Illinois missionaries September 12^th through September 19^th. A special offering goal for Illinois missions has been set for $650.00 to help with the work of reaching people of Illinois for Christ.

Smith Groves’ ministry at Fair Oaks is September 12^th at 2:00 p.m.

Next “Women on Mission” is September 22^nd at 6:30 pm just before prayer meeting. All women are invited to come and pray with us.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY

     Fall is almost here and our ladies group is in full swing! If you haven’t picked up a Women’s Ministry calendar, there are some at the Welcome Center. Our next event coming up is Sunday, September 12. We will be going to a local nursing home and delivering fall floral arrangements for their dining tables. We wanted to do something in our community and this is something new that we are so excited about. There will be a sign up sheet on the foyer bulletin board if you would like to receive a name of either a resident or staff member from the nursing home to pray for. You can also visit them, send cards – however you feel led. This will carry on until the ladies spring banquet.

     Looking forward to October……we will be getting together to play games and have soup on Friday, October 22^nd.

     Secret sister is off to a great start with 23 ladies! Thanks to all of you who signed up. It will be fun!!
